From the National Commander, Kenneth A. LLoyd – As many of our members know, we are all V-O-L-U-N-T-E-E-R-S! We work anywhere from 20-80 hours a week doing the necessary work to keep the Society active and growing. From collecting Dues, to setting up new member packets to answering member’s questions and concerns we give 100% of our time FREELY to make SAMS an organization that everyone can be proud to join. This FISCAL YEAR (July 1-June 30, 2026) I’d like to see each member recruit 10 new members into SAMS. Our membership is growing through active recruiting at Highland Games and Annual Parades and Events within each of our Regions and Communities. Along with the growth we are seating members in positions that never existed before so that we can cover all the entities that have come forth since our numbers are increasing. We now have a Media Director, Communication Officer, and Recruitment/Retention Officer and now a Regional Commander Adjunct. We are continually seeking talented members who are computer literate and who can jump aboard and share their knowledge and creativity to help take SAMS into the Future. Currently we are seeking to fill the following positions:

National Adjutant – (After Elections)
National Assistant Adjutant Second Chair position – OPEN
National Assistant Comptroller/Adjutant- OPEN
SAMS National Integrated Database Director & Entry Assistant – OPEN
Assistant National Quartermaster – OPEN
Historian – OPEN
Event Dates Coordinator – OPEN
Military Affairs – OPEN
Each Committee Chairman is seeking two people to sit on each Committee to complete the process of the following Committees: Budget/Finance Committee, Nominating Committee, Membership Committee, Awards Committee and Dress Code Committee, Ethics Committee.
