William Roy Bierwirth II

    Bill Bierwirth, faced his final roll call and was embraced by God's loving arms on Monday, January 15 at 1841 hours EST.

    In attendance were daughter, Erin Bierwirth, special friend, Kathleen Dart, a hospice nurse and Ray Burton, Post 116 VC.

    As well as being Adjutant for Post 116, Bill was Vice-President of the Saint Andrews Society of Richmond.

    Erin, Kathleen, Julie Canfield and Ray Burton had been sitting with Bill all day and holding his hand as each of us prayed to the Almighty, the Supreme Commander for Bill's soul.

    Bill, a member of Clan Wallace, was a graduate of East Michigan University and a member of the Army ROTC there.

    After graduation and commissioning, Bill, a veteran of the United States Army, served during the Cold War as an Armor officer commanding a M-60 tank unit in West Germany.

    His last assignment was in Fort Eustis, Virginia. After leaving military service Bill took up the honored career as a teacher of young minds, first in Williamsburg, Virginia and later in the Richmond metro area.

    While in Williamsburg he help organize and run the Williamsburg Highland Games.

    Bill is survived by his daughter Erin Bierwirth, son Sean Bierwirth, grandson Connor Bierwirth and 1 other grandson, a granddaughter and a step grandson.

    Erin and Connor currently reside in Richmond, Virginia.

    Sean is in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany
