Ronald W. Kilgore

    Born in Texas, he graduated from San Benito HS in 1957 enlisted in the Naval Reserves as Yeoman 3rd. In 1959, went ‘regular’ Navy and served as a Naval Advisor in Vietnam; after returning, he attended Texas A & M, graduating with a BA in Government and History in 1968. That fall, with family, he moved to Nashville, TN, entering Vanderbilt Law School; he received his Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1971. After passing the Tennessee Bar, he was admitted to practice law in Tennessee. He returned to active duty in the Navy, stationed in Charleston, SC, in the Judge Advocates Corp. He was admitted to practice in the State of South Carolina as well as the U S Court of Military Appeals and the U S Supreme Court. As a Navy Lt, JAGC, he also served as Military Judge. Returning to Nashville in 1975, he entered the law firm of Parker, Nichol, and Finley. He retired as Commander, JAGC, USNR with 32 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Sherry Hansen Kilgore. He is survived by two sons, three daughters, ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
